Nadav Kander

Known for: portrait photography and the Prix Pictet-winning Yangtze series

Nadav Kander was born in South Africa and has worked in London since the 1980s, building a practice that spans advertising, editorial portraiture, and long-form documentary work. His Yangtze — The Long River (2009), documenting the transformation of the Chinese landscape along the river's length, won the Prix Pictet. He photographed Barack Obama for the cover of The New York Times Magazine in 2009.
