What the site is

Art is Hard is a community-sourced reference database of gear — cameras, lenses, paints, brushes, and other materials — used by fine artists and photographers. All artist-gear connections are submitted by users or the site's editors and are sourced from publicly available interviews, books, documentaries, and other verifiable references.

The site is provided for informational purposes only. We make no guarantees about the completeness or accuracy of any information on the site.

User accounts

You must provide an accurate email address to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You may not share your account or create accounts on behalf of others.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, submit false or misleading information, or engage in abusive behaviour.

User-submitted content

Registered users may submit gear connections, artist attributions, and related content (“Submissions”). By submitting content, you:

• Confirm that the submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge and is supported by a verifiable source
• Grant Art is Hard a perpetual, royalty-free licence to publish, display, and modify your submission on the site
• Agree not to submit false, misleading, defamatory, or infringing content

All submissions are reviewed by site administrators before being published. We may reject or remove any submission for any reason.
