Robert Frank received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1955 to travel the United States by car, producing the 83 photographs that make up The Americans (1958). The book was initially rejected by American publishers and first issued in France; its influence on American photography proved lasting. Frank later moved primarily into film and experimental video.

Product description

35mm rangefinder camera introduced in 1933, adding slow shutter speeds (1 second to 1/20) via a second dial on the front of the body. Uses the Leica screw mount (L39) and accepts the same lenses as the Leica II. Produced in Wetzlar, Germany.
