Sergio Leone invented the Spaghetti Western with A Fistful of Dollars (1964), shot in Spain with an international cast, and refined the genre across A Few Dollars More (1965) and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). His collaboration with the composer Ennio Morricone produced the most recognized film scores of the 1960s and 1970s. His final film, Once Upon a Time in America (1984), ran nearly four hours in its restored version.
