Montclair Film
Todd Haynes emerged from the New Queer Cinema of the early 1990s and developed a practice rooted in the formal language of classical Hollywood melodrama, which he uses to examine identity, desire, and the construction of the self. Far from Heaven (2002) paid explicit homage to Douglas Sirk; I'm Not There (2007) used six different actors to play versions of Bob Dylan. He received the Academy Award nomination for Best Director for Carol (2015).
