iPad Pro
The iPad Pro, used with the Apple Pencil stylus and the Procreate drawing application, has been adopted by illustrators and fine artists as a primary drawing and painting tool since its introduction in 2015. David Hockney was among its earliest and most prominent artistic advocates, using it to make and share drawings widely before its adoption became widespread. Its pressure-sensitive display and low latency response distinguish it from earlier graphics tablets.

“Hockney adopted the iPad as a primary drawing tool shortly after its introduction and has discussed it extensively in interviews and exhibitions. His Yorkshire Landscapes iPad drawings were exhibited at the Royal Academy in 2012 and he has described the device as the most exciting drawing tool he has encountered.”
