Victo Ngai is a Hong Kong-American illustrator based in Los Angeles. She earned her BFA in Illustration from RISD in 2010, where she was mentored by Chris Buzelli. A five-time Society of Illustrators Gold Medalist and the first Chinese artist to receive the Hamilton King Award, she was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 in Art and Style in 2014. Her hybrid process combines traditional linework with nib pens and Rotring Rapidographs, textured layers in charcoal and oil pastel, and digital compositing in Adobe Photoshop. Her clients include The New Yorker, The New York Times, National Geographic, Apple, and Penguin Random House.
