Sidney Lumet

Sidney Lumet directed more than 40 films and received four Academy Award nominations for Best Director, most notably for 12 Angry Men (1957), Dog Day Afternoon (1975), Network (1976), and The Verdict (1982). He worked primarily in New York throughout his career, developing a realist style adapted from his years in live television. He received an honorary Academy Award in 2005.
