Ralph Steadman is best known for his long collaboration with Hunter S. Thompson, beginning with the 1970 Scanlan's Monthly coverage of the Kentucky Derby and continuing through Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1971) and many subsequent projects. His ink-spatter style - loose, violent, and funny - was developed partly in response to the physical limitations of working on deadline in conditions that precluded careful draftsmanship. He has also produced extensive work on food, wine, and Sigmund Freud.

Product description
Winsor & Newton has manufactured artists' oil colours in London since 1832, and its professional-grade line remains one of the most widely used in studio painting worldwide. The range covers more than 120 pigments, each ground in cold-pressed linseed or safflower oil to a standard of consistency that has changed little since the nineteenth century. Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon were among the many painters who worked from the Winsor & Newton range throughout their careers.
